Firmware Updates and General News

Greetings ,

With the first two productions of Digital Directors in use around the globe, we have been hard at work implementing firmware improvements and bug fixes based on user feedback.  It looks like we have gotten to a point where we are happy with the performance of the Digital Director and would like to encourage any owners out there to pursue updating to the latest release.

One key change for the Digital Director, is now the inclusion of a small “+” symbol that appears on the DAC when the Director is being fully utilized with the new processing technology.  We have had more than a few folks add the Director to their system, hear the improvement in isolation and assume that was all the Director could do.  After configuring the system correctly, seeing the ‘+’, they were blown away with how much more it had to offer.

For those without the Digital Director, we would still recommend giving your system an update.  There are minor tweaks and subtle improvements we have been applying over the last year that could be worth the effort in updating.  This will also prepare your DAC for future use with the Digital Director.  Hopefully, when stock allows, we will be able to have more Directors available for in home demos.

Best Regards,
Daniel Gullman

Firmware Updates – Start Here

We have also made some improvements to our support pages, user guides, and added videos for updating the firmware on each of our DACs.  We hope this will make the firmware updating process just a bit smoother.  Digital Directors are now sharing a support page with the associated DAC.  We recommend watching the update video all the way through before starting so you can know what to expect.  Please use the following buttons below to find your firmware updates:

The Discrete DAC > Click here.

The Premier DAC > Click here.

The Reference DAC > Click here.

California Flooding

As many have seen in the news, we have been undergoing record rainstorms along the California coast.  Our local town of Watsonville makes use of a levee which failed during the recent storms.  While much of our local neighborhoods are under a tremendous amount flood damage, MSB’s factory has weathered the storm relatively unscathed.  Evacuations, frequent power outages and failing internet connections have put a damper on production, but it looks like the worst is behind us now.  Thanks for your patience and understanding with recent order delays.
